A MAGNIFICENT timber home at Bilambil Heights, set to go under auction later this month, could attract a record price for the suburb according to real estate agent Michael Kelly.
Sitting on 2.5 elevated acres with breathtaking views overlooking the Terranora Broadwater, the house is described as ski resort style living close to the beaches of Tweed and Coolangatta.
Mr Kelly, of Coldwell Banker Carter Real Estate, who is marketing the Broadwater Esplanade property, said it would fetch around the $1.5 million mark at auction on August 15.
“The current owners built the property three years ago and, having been exposed to different cultures throughout their travels, have blended new design elements into the construction,” Mr Kelly said.
“The home has been built entirely with superior timber materials and has been constructed with sustainability in mind whilst maintaining aesthetics and craftsmanship.”
The former owners welcomed guests to the house on a regular basis, and ran a bed-and-breakfast operation from the property.
The tri-level house was built as a private retreat with a pool house and fitness area separated from the main building by manicured lawns.
Mr Kelly said the property comprised five bedrooms, all with water views and ensuite spa bathrooms.
The master suite also has its own office.
There is a separate home theatre, two additional bathrooms and a treatment room with three individual therapy areas.
The kitchen opens out to a spectacular entertainment deck.
The pool and spa area features its own pool house with gym, sauna, steam room and bathroom.
According to Mr Kelly the house had an energy efficient design.
“Today more than ever people are building more energy efficient properties and the use of natural woods is becoming more popular,” Mr Kelly said.
“Floor to ceiling glass maximizes the light and brings the water views into the interior spaces.”
He said the owners were moving back to the UK for business reasons and the unique property will be Auctioned on Saturday, August 15, on-site, at 1am
An adjoining 7134 square-metre property containing a four bedroom, two bathroom home with pool will also be available.
“So if you dream of running a bed and breakfast health retreat this could be the opportunity you have been waiting for, or, you could just keep this beautiful luxury estate to yourself,” Mr Kelly said.
