Truck crash closes off Pacific Hwy in Glenugie, south of Grafton
A TRUCK carrying frozen meat products was involved in a dramatic crash which closed a highway south of Grafton this morning, with debris flung across both sides of the road.

A TRUCK carrying frozen meat products was involved in a dramatic crash which closed a highway south of Grafton this morning.
The truck was travelling on the Pacific Hwy, Glenugie, when the driver somehow lost control just after 5am, jackknifed and then ended up perched precariously on top of a concrete barrier, with debris flung across the highway.
The truck caught on fire, but the flames were quickly extinguished and the driver escaped injury.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesman said it was fortunate there wasn’t any oncoming traffic during the time of the incident, which occurred about 11km south of Grafton.
The northbound direction of the highway was closed for many hours today as RMS crews cleaned up the aftermath of the crash.
Traffic diversions were put in place, with northbound motorists directed onto Parker Rd, Wells Crossing and southbound motorists diverted to the Old Pacific Hwy.
