Driver survives horror Spit Bridge crash in Mosman with minor injuries
A smash between a truck and car sparked major delays on Spit Bridge. Their car crushed almost in half, the driver who had to be cut from the wreck, but somehow sustained only minor injuries.

A driver has miraculously escaped serious injury after his car was crushed almost in half in a collision with a truck on the Spit Bridge on Monday morning.
Shocking images from the scene show the mangled wreckage, with the vehicle resembling a crushed can of drink, but emergency services say the motorist suffered only minor injuries.
The crash occurred just after 7.30am on Monday, with emergency crews rushing to the scene to free the trapped driver.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews used hydraulic tools to cut through the wreckage while paramedics stabilised the motorist.

Fire and Rescue NSW Superintendent Adam Dewberry said it was remarkable the driver escaped without serious harm.
“It looks like there’s only minor injuries, but we do know that things can deteriorate quickly in these types of crashes,” he told 2GB’s Ben Fordham.
An eyewitnesses described the wreckage on live radio.
“It looks like a car has been completely crushed, I don’t know how it happened but I think a truck was involved because a truck stopped there as well,” Lewis told 2GB.
Hundreds of bus passengers headed into the CBD, who were caught up in the peak hour morning chaos, abandoned commuter buses stuck in the lengthy traffic snarl.
Passengers, who had been stuck on buses for about an hour along the 4-lane Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation, between Manly Vale and Seaforth, asked drivers to open the doors and let them off.
A passenger told this masthead that they walked for close to 1km along the traffic jam, to the intersection with Sydney and Spit roads.
Video shows a line of passengers snaking along the side of what is normally a 80km/h speed zone.
“We were told that buses would take us from there to Manly Wharf so we can catch the ferries to work,” the passenger said.
“People on buses were saying to the drivers that they needed to get off so they could go to the toilet.”
All citybound lanes on the Spit Bridge have reopened, with traffic conditions returning to normal in the area.
At its peak, northbound traffic was backed up along Spit and Military Road to Spit Junction.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and instead use the Roseville Bridge and Warringah Road for travel to and from the Northern Beaches.
To add to commuter woes on the northern beaches, emergency services were also called to another motor vehicle collision on Warringah Rd at Frenchs Forest at 8.10am.
One of three westbound lanes were blocked for about 30 minutes after the two-car crash, near the intersection with Forest Way. Citybound traffic was delayed along Warringah Rd, back to Allambie Heights.
