Two men charged, gun seized in shocking Lakemba brawl

A man who allegedly hit his girlfriend’s father in a domestic violence blow up which was caught on camera in a western Sydney street also allegedly assaulted his girlfriend a week earlier, according to court documents.
Vision of the incident allegedly shows Mohamad El-Mohamad, 28, and his cousin Nik Ruc, 35, following an older man down Wangee Rd, opposite Lakemba Mosque before El-Mohamad allegedly hit the man in the face.
Ruk is then allegedly seen to be holding a silver revolver inside his jumper, as a woman’s voice can be heard shouting from behind the camera.
Police alleged in court that El-Mohamad picked up the revolver from his Lidcombe home that day, gave it to Ruk and the pair went to the Lakemba home where the family of El-Mohamad’s girlfriend lived.
After El-Mohamad allegedly assaulted his girlfriend’s father in the front courtyard of his home.
Police allege the pair left along Wangee Rd where El-Mohamad grabbed the gun from Ruk and threw it in a bush.
Court papers also allege El-Mohamad assaulted his girlfriend in Lidcombe on April24.
Police called to the scene shut Wangee Rd until they had located the two men.
Further vision of the incident allegedly shows Ruk being searched by police.
El-Mohamad was charged with 13 offences including three counts of common assault (DV).
Ruk was charged with seven offences including stalking and having a loadedfirearm in a public place.
El-Mohamad was denied bail in Parramatta Local Court today and Ruk did not apply. Both had their charges adjourned to later this month.
