Texas set to sell 3D-printed homes

Former premier turned Optus executive Gladys Berejiklian has rented out her Northbridge home, heightening speculation she has moved in with her partner, barrister Arthur Moses.

Her former home cost $1.6m in 2016, when she was the hardworking NSW Treasurer.

The three-bedroom townhouse found tenants earlier this month, one week after its listing at $1250 a week.

Realestate.com.au puts Northbridge’s three-bedroom rental at a $1097 median, down around 5 per cent over the past year.

It’s been two years since news broke of the budding romance between then-premier and Moses, who had represented Berejiklian at the Independent Commission Against Corruption hearings into her ex-boyfriend, former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire.

The rumour of their relationship spread among Sydney’s legal and political circles, with confirmation disclosed in June 2021 by Ms Berejiklian’s sister Mary in an Instagram post of the couple with the caption “Glad and her boo”.

Quickly dubbed Sydney’s hottest power couple, it has not yet been confirmed they now reside at the $7.2m Northbridge house Moses bought in late 2021.

It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a swimming pool and views of Middle Harbour.

Berejiklian, who remains active in party preselection matters, according to The Sunday Telegraph sister column The Sauce, kept the leasing matter close.

It was leased through Hockeys Property, which is the extended family company of the former federal Liberal treasurer Joe Hockey.

She bought in Northbridge after selling her North Willoughby townhouse for $980,000, having paid $626,000 in 2008.

Her first apartment cost $275,000 in Willoughby in 1999, which she sold through Hockeys in 2008 at $436,000.

NICHO HYNES BUYS FIRST HOME

NRL star Nicho Hynes has secured his first home, in the Sutherland Shire, having recently told fans that he wanted to spend the rest of his career at the Cronulla Sharks.

Gosford-born Hynes, who will be auditioning this weekend for the NSW No.7 jersey in the next Origin clash in Brisbane, spent $2.17m on a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home in Caringbah.

The 2022 Dally M Medal winner snapped up the renovated 1950s home pre-auction through Rhiff and Michael Larkings at Location Real Estate Sales & Consulting.

It had sold two years ago at $2.01m.

Realestate.com.au calculates the current four-bedroom Caringbah median price at $1,802,500, down 10 per cent annually, but up on the $1.5m of two years ago.

Set on 575sq m, the single-level home has its living room separated from the kitchen and dining space by a two-way fireplace. Both areas open to an alfresco space, with swimming pool and spa.

It comes with self-contained accommodation next to the pool, which will be for his mother Julie.

Until his move late last month, Hynes had been renting a garden apartment in the Sun Deck complex on Gerrale St on Cronulla Beach.

He’d been paying around $800 a week after signing up to start at the Sharks in early 2022 from the Melbourne Storm, where he made his debut late in the 2019 season.

Following his departure, the apartment was recently put up for rent at $870 a week through Kayla Graham and Hollie Hayward of Highland Property.

The halfback, who turns 27 later this month, played his junior footy at the Umina Beach Bunnies and Woy Woy Roosters.

In April, the Wiradjuri man signed a contract extension until 2029, despite not being off contract until after the 2024 season.

“I never thought I’d sign a long-term contract in the NRL, one that’s hopefully going to set up my life and my family as well,” Hynes said on the contract extension.

“This whole town, whole community has welcomed me and I can never picture putting on another jersey.

Club chair Steve Mace noted: “Nicho loves the club, has fit seamlessly into Cronulla and the Sutherland Shire and enjoys the lifestyle the area offers.”

The living, kitchen and dining space opens onto a balcony at the modern-style home built on Pretty Beach water’s edge.

Hadley, who resides in Sydney’s northwest, regularly heads up the M1 to visit his grandchildren, so the purchase will now allow midway sleepovers.

The father of four, who worked seven days a week early in his career, gives his radio audience regular updates on the five grandchildren. They are five years and younger, with another on the way.

He has described his grandchildren’s arrivals as “life-changing experiences.”

“They basically are my life,” he told the Nine Honey website this week.

“I just adore them,” he said.

The popular Nine Radio talkback host, who has been on hosting duties for the morning show since 2002, won his 149th consecutive radio survey mid-week.

Hadley sold his longtime Dural home for $7.6m in 2021. He had been living on acreage since the mid-1990s, but downsized elsewhere in the northwest after he turned 66.

Hadley has also had a Gold Coast bolthole since 2016, with plans to again upgrade at Main Beach.

Sales at Pretty Beach have ranged from $981,000 to $2.8m this year, with prices once hitting $3.7m.

No doubt the purchase will see the couple dine more regularly at Saddles, the gourmet eatery owned by his mate, adman John Singleton, set just off the M1 at Mt White.

They married there in March 2021.

The buying company, Cherry Petal Pty Ltd, is directed by Steven Jankelowitz, the Ageis financial adviser who is acting on the mystery buyer’s behalf.

The mystery buyer was initially touted as Steven Lowy, the former Westfield director, and then speculation honed in on internet gambling tycoon Martin Moshel.

The company was established in the week prior to the sale.

The 402sq m Victoria St corner block had traded at $675,000 in 1998.
