The Sauce: MP’s steamy office romance prompts calls for a parliament ‘bonk ban’
Hot on the heels of last week’s bombshell about the relationship between Premier Gladys Berejiklian and ex-MP Daryl Maguire, a new clandestine parliamentary romance — this time between an MP and a staffer — has come to light.

While most people are still trying to digest the unlikely coupling of Premier Gladys “I stuffed up” Berejiklian and disgraced Wagga MP “Dodgy” Daryl Maguire, tongues have also been wagging about another steamy state political romance.
First raised on the ministerial wives special “WAGS” WhatsApp group — yes, there is an actual group — the word is that an MP recently ended what appeared to be a serious relationship to be with the staffer.
The group learned of the relationship after the MPs ex-girlfriend declared she would no longer be participating in the “chats” due to her partner “moving on” — a revelation that apparently resulted in one minister’s wife sharing some terse words on the matter.
It appears senior staff in the MP’s office were also not exactly overjoyed to hear about their boss coupling up with their more junior colleague, with one Macquarie Street mole telling The Sauce that the office discord resulted in the staffer being quietly moved on to another office, where she remains.

The Sauce does not suggest any wrongdoing, but as one Liberal source still putting his jaw back in place after the Glad and Daz reveal said last week: “I think it’s probably time we introduce a bonk ban.”
Given the story doing the rounds of Macquarie Street last week of a pollie allegedly requesting a Minister via SMS text to send him a “dick pic”, a ban would probably be in everyone’s best political interests.
CONSTANCE LETS FLY AT MP
If Liberal MP Matthew Mason-Cox didn’t cop it immediately after his doorstop comments last Monday about the government having had a “terrible day with the Premier” and how everyone now needed to “look at the next steps, he certainly did the next day.
The Sauce has been told Transport Minister Andrew “Bega” Constance “let fly” at Cox during a party room hook-up.
And while Constance was much calmer during this week’s party room meeting, his disdain for Cox was barely concealed, with one well-placed source telling The Sauce he referred to the Upper House MP as his “learned friend”.
Despite his own long-held leadership ambitions, “Bega” has so far publicly expressed nothing but loyalty to his boss.
While no one is suggesting anyone is preparing to roll the Premier anytime soon, it did not go unnoticed how the Right MPs all dialled in together, supposedly having met beforehand.
YOUNG NATS JOIN THE GREENS
Of all the venues members of the Young Nationals could have selected to hold their annual general meeting, a lawn bowls club called “The Greens” in the metropolis of North Sydney would be the last place one would have thought they would choose.
But according to the invite that found its way to The Sauce last week, that’s exactly where they will be on November 7.
Young Nationals chairman Jock Sowter, who is the director of strategy for NSW Nationals leader John Barilaro, said in the invite that the meeting would be followed by “social lawn bowls”.
“You’d expect this of the Young Liberals, not us,” our Nationals mole quipped.
The bush is in safe hands.
ENERGY MINISTER A WORK OF ART
When Labor frontbencher Walt Secord lodged a question on notice asking how many times Energy and Environment Minister Matt Kean had met with artist Charles Mouyat or Studio Nero since 2017, he probably was not expecting the reply that came back.

Mr Kean had his portrait painted by the Sydney-based Mouyat for the artist’s entry into the 2020 Archibald Prize.
In the official correspondence sent back to Secord, Kean wrote: “The Honourable member is just jealous of my painting.”
The letter also indicated Mr Kean had disclosed all his meetings appropriately.
OH BOY! ROBERTS’ FAMILY JOY
Congratulations to NSW Corrections Minister Anthony Roberts and his wife Alicia, who welcomed a baby boy to the family on Friday.
Joseph Albert Bush Roberts was born at 7.28am, with The Sauce told both mum and baby are doing just fine.
Baby Joseph is the fourth child for the couple, and also fourth boy.
