Five teenagers, aged from 13 to 17, have been arrested after allegedly sending police on a wild car chase through Kings Cross.

A group of teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly sent police on a wild chase through Kings Cross.

Police were alerted to the group when they saw a suspicious Land Rover leaving a service station at Rushcutters Bay.

Following a check of the car’s registration, it was discovered it had been allegedly stolen from a home at Bellevue Hill on Friday.

Police chased after the Land Rover and tried to catch up with it, following it into the Cross City Tunnel.

As officers drove into the tunnel they found the car lying on its side with five teenagers trapped inside.

Police helped the teenagers out of the car, all of whom escaped serious injury.

All five youths, including three boys aged 13, 16, and 17 and two girls aged 15 and 16, were arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where they are assisting police with inquiries.

The 13-year-old boy has been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment after complaining of a sore knee.
