A teenager who allegedly robbed a Sydney busker while the performance was being livestreamed said he needed the money for food before telling police he found the cash on the road.
Police allege Isaac Manias, 18, swiped about $400 in notes from classical guitarist Martin Campos, 38, as Mr Campos was playing to shoppers in Pitt Street Mall about 5.45pm on Saturday.

Mr Campos allegedly chased Manias, restraining him, along with bystanders, in the mall and retrieving his cash, before Sydney City officers arrived.
Manias was arrested and charged with larceny for the stolen cash and goods in personal custody over a credit card allegedly found on him.
When he was first stopped, police prosecutor Sergeant Acar told the court Manias said “I took the money because I can’t get a job and I need to buy food”.
Sergeant Acar said Manias later told police a conflicted story: “I found it on the road in Hillsdale about two days ago. I haven’t used it I just kept it.”
Manias was granted bail and ordered to report to Maroubra Police Station daily until his case returns to court on July 24.
