A 13-year-old boy has had “amazing” luck after he fell 20 metres down a cliff in northern Sydney before getting up and walking to safety.
About 7.40pm emergency services hurried to Clifton Gardens Reserve in Mosman after reports the teen had fallen up to 20 metres down a cliff.
There, paramedics found the teenager conscious, breathing and walking, according to NSW Ambulance Inspector Christian Holmes.
“He was able to walk initially on the scene,” Insp Holmes said.
“This young man is very very lucky to receive injuries like this … the fact this young man is able to walk is nothing short of amazing.
The teen suffered chest and pelvis injuries, and was transported via ambulance to the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick where he remains in a stable condition.
“He’s got very, very lucky for Christmas,” Inspector Holmes said.
“I hope he does buy his parents something special to say sorry for doing this to them so close to Christmas.”
