“The fight itself is under investigation by police and they have spoken directly to all De La Salle students who have identified as being present,” he said.

Police have spoken to 45 students who were involved with the fight at the boys school who asked them to delete footage of the incident from their phones.

The spokesman said police will also speak to students from the girls school about the incident.

“Any student identified through the investigation as encouraging the fight will have appropriate steps taken in accordance with our SCS policies.

“Correspondence has gone to the parents of students who have been identified as to being at the scene.”

Counselling support has been offered at the school.

“One student involved in the incident has a broken nose and was admitted to hospital. The injured student was expected to be released from hospital last night and the families will continue to be supported by the school.”
