The Daily Telegraph understands the children were walking alongside their parents before the incident.
An NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said it was a “lucky escape” for the boy and girl, both aged two, who suffered minor injuries.
They were taken to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a stable condition with minor head injuries.
NSW Ambulance duty operations manager Giles Buchanan said it was a timely reminder for all road users to take care and watch for pedestrians
“As a paramedic, when you hear two young children have been hit by a car, you immediately prepare for the worst-case scenario,” Insp Buchanan said.
“Paramedics responded immediately and began treating the children. Considering the circumstances it was incredibly lucky their injuries were not extensive.
“Since the beginning of the year, paramedics have been responding to five pedestrians hit by cars every day.”
