It’s the American tradition that has become an Aussie spectacle.

The Super Bowl is back and Australians are partying harder than ever before, with thousands of fans packing into bars and clubs while others tune in from home on Monday to watch the game of games.

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to make history, becoming the first team to win three titles in a row, while the Philadelphia Eagles are hunting revenge after losing to Patrick Mahomes and his team just two years ago.

Live from the 83,000-seat Caesars Dome in New Orleans, the game will be the most watched TV event in the US, while Aussie sport fanatics will act like Monday is a public holiday as they tune in for the big game, and a halftime show headlined by rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Most Aussies will be watching from the land down under, but a few will get the full experience after dishing out tens of thousands of dollars to see the extravaganza live from the States.

One will even be in amongst the action, with Bankstown’s own Jordan Mailata taking the field for his second Super Bowl in front of what will be a sold-out crowd.

Former Eagles punter and AFL legend Saverio Rocca told The Daily Telegraph the rise of Mailata has made this game a must-watch for any Aussie fan.

“He’s an absolute gentleman, such a monster of a guy who has just grown and Aussies love and support that,” Rocca said.

Having almost made a Super Bowl in 2009, Rocca believes there is no better way for Sydneysiders to tune into the big game than catching up with their mates and heading to one of the many live sites across the city.

“You get a great experience by soaking in the atmosphere and getting a chance to connect with fellow fans and people who embrace the sport,” he said.

One live site in Sydney’s east is turning the Coogee Bay Hotel into an all-American party.

Tailgate Fest, hosted by Sydney Kings legend Steve Carfino has replicated what it is like to party in the US, with big screens, cheerleaders and some of America’s favourite food on hand for the big game.

“With over one million Aussie fans watching the Super Bowl in 2025, big crowds will gather at this popular beach spot to enjoy the hype that only a Super Bowl game can bring,” Carfino said.

“With the huge demand increasing over the last few years, Sydneysiders now have a heap of choices to wet their NFL appetite.”

The Star Sydney is also feeding into their American knowledge by holding an annual hot dog eating contest at the sports bar as part of its Super Bowl party.

General manager of marketing Vonne Lombard said the game is one of the “greatest days” on the sporting calendar.

“This is our sports bar’s largest day of the year with an electric atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re in a stadium with fans,” Ms Lombard said.

“Our annual hot dog eating competition is a real spectacle. Super Bowl really is the pinnacle event of sport.”

For those out west, Clubs NSW has you covered for the annual event with Wests League Club, The Sherwood and Country Club Gledswood Hills offering Super Bowl decorations, loaded dogs, fries and burgers, Budweiser beer buckets and merchandise.
