SYDNEYSIDERS who have been suffering through scorching temperatures will only get a few days reprieve before the hot weather sets in again.
Earlier today, Sydney proved how relentless the scorching weather has been by equalling a 120-year-old record of summer days 35C or over.
As of today, Sydney has had nine days at 35C or above.
The last time Sydney Observatory Hill saw that much heat was in the summer of 1895/1896.

Today the city reached 39.4C at 12:30pm and Penrith hit 41.7C at 11:43am.
But a cool southerly change this afternoon has seen temperatures drop to 25C, and they will stay in the sub-30C range for the rest of the working week.
But BoM metrologist Ashleigh Lange said by the weekend the temperature will be soaring back up into the high 30s- potentially surpassing the record yet again.
“Saturday will be 33C and Sunday back up to 37C,” she said
