Police have charged two men with vandalism offences after one of the men was filmed smashing cars with a baseball bat in Sydney’s southwest.

Police have charged two men from southwest Sydney after they allegedly smashed cars with a baseball bat and posted the footage on social media.

The pair, aged 21 and 23, was arrested on Tuesday and taken to Narellan Police Station following an investigation into the vandalism at Oran Park.

The younger man was charged with destroying or damaging property, being armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence and having part of his body outside a window or a door of a vehicle.

The older man was charged with damaging property and being armed with the intent on committing an offence.

NSW Police said around 11pm on Saturday, November 7, the younger man was travelling as a passenger in a Holden Colorado when he leaned out the car window and allegedly damaged several vehicles parked on Banfield Drive, Oran Park.

In footage of the incident, the younger man laughed maniacally while his friends inside the ute cheered him on.

In an earlier statement, NSW police said the alleged damage had occurred across several suburbs.

“Camden PAC are aware of a number of malicious damage incidents that occurred on Saturday evening into Sunday morning (7th 8th November), across a number of suburbs including Narellan, Camden and Oran Park,” it said.
