Sydney socialite and private wealth adviser Freddie Blencke has been given a “slap on the wrist” in court, following an incident in which he was accused of refusing to leave a Bondi restaurant and assaulting a police officer.
Blencke and his legal team are understood to be “surprised and relieved” after the 49-year-old father of three walked away with a $750 fine and a 12-month community corrections order following a hearing at Waverley Local Court on Friday.
The event took place in April last year, after a drunk Blencke was accused of refusing to leave Bondi’s famous Hotel Ravesis and assaulting police.
Blencke pleaded not guilty to remaining in the vicinity of a licensed premises, assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty, assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty occasioning them actual bodily harm, and resisting officer in the execution of duty.
“The outcome for Freddie was unbelievable,” a source close to his legal team told Sunday Confidential. He could have actually gotten into a lot of trouble given what’s happened before.
He is extremely relieved and happy with the outcome.”
Blencke is also in the midst of a legal battle with his ex-wife Annabelle Price, having had an assault charge laid in August after he allegedly assaulted her at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
This case is part-heard and is expected to be finalised on June 17.
Despite the drama that has plagued him over the past year and a half, Blencke is said to currently be in a “good place”, having entered a relationship with “down to earth” mother-of-two Nazanin Sabzpoori.
The positive news for Blencke comes as his ex-wife Price threw a birthday bash to celebrate her 31st birthday on Saturday.
Among those who attended the lunchtime event, held at boyfriend Tom Fennell’s Point Piper rental, was Ellie Aitken (who is rumoured to have patched up her relationship with Charlie Aitken), Jess Hempten and Tanja Watts.
