Social media blunder for usually Twitter savvy Mike Baird
He’s the social media darling of NSW politics — but a copy and paste error may have revealed NSW Premier Mike Baird’s online presence isn’t as spontaneous as he’d like us to believe.

He’s the social media darling of NSW politics — but a simple copy and paste error on Twitter may have revealed NSW Premier Mike Baird’s online profile isn’t as spontaneous as he’d like us to believe.
In response to last night’s terror attacks in Belgium, Mr Baird tweeted: “Tweet/FB option. Sydney, and all of NSW, stands with you Brussels” — the first line presumably advice from a media adviser and accidentally left in by the usually social media savvy politician.
The errant tweet soon vanished, replaced with just the message of support.
Sydney, and all of NSW, stands with you Brussels.

Since taking office in April 2014 Mr Baird has charmed voters via social media, complete with snaps at Taylor Swift gigs, surfing selfies and even a night of tongue in cheek live tweeting of The Bachelor.
The @mikebairdMP Twitter account has more than 55,000 followers and the premier’s Facebook page has been liked more than 90,000 times.
But it’s not the first time social media has gone wrong for the NSW Premier. Earlier this year an impassioned Facebook response to a spate of articles savaging Sydney’s lockout laws and restrictions on the city’s night life saw him labelled #casinomike by social media users.
Mr Baird’s message of support for Brussels has since been retweeted 170 times and liked by hundreds of Twitter users.
A spokesman for Mr Baird said social media was handled in the same way as all other media.
“Everything you see online is the Premier’s words,” he said.
