Smithfield drug bust: Ice, weapons, cars seized and four people arrested

A treasure trove of drugs and designer goods have been seized and four people have been arrested following raids across Sydney’s west.

Almost a million dollars worth of ice, weapons, designer clothes and cars have been seized and four people arrested following an investigation into Sydney’s drug supply.

NSW Police searched three homes at Smithfield and Oran Park around 9am on Wednesday allegedly finding a treasure trove of drugs, weapons and luxury items.

They seized 5kg of ice with an estimated street value of $800,000 as well as cannabis and unidentified white powder.

During their search, they also found $54,000 in cash, ammunition, a baton, designer clothes and jewellery.

Officers took a BMW, valued at $210,000, Toyota Corolla, jet ski and quad bike from the homes. All of these items will undergo further examination.

Police arrested four people during the operation, a 31-year-old woman and three men, aged 30, 36 and 62 before taking them to Fairfield Police Station for questioning.

The woman, a 30-year-old man and 62-year-old man were charged with serious drug offences. Their bail was refused and they are expected to appear at Fairfield Local Court today where police will allege they were involved in a criminal syndicate distributing drugs across Sydney’s southwest.

The 36-year-old man was charged with participating in a criminal group. He received strict bail conditions to appear in the same court on December 14.

The arrests come after the creation of Strike Force Ouse in September. The operation was created to investigate the ongoing supply of methamphetamine and heroin.
