Police were told the 25-year-old was driving a Jeep on Captain Cook Bridge when he allegedly threw an object at a Subaru directly behind him at about 2.30pm.
Acting Inspector Michael Stuart said both drivers stopped on Taren Point Rd, where the driver of the Jeep made physical threats towards the 23-year-old driver of the Subaru.
“The 25-year-old allegedly made threats toward to the younger man before punching and kicking the Subaru, causing damage to the vehicle,” Acting Insp Stuart said.
Insp Stuart said the alleged altercation was sparked over a road incident and he did not believe the men were known to each other.
“At 6pm last night the 25-year-old man attended Miranda police station and was interviewed in the relation to the matter.”
No charges have been laid, but investigations are continuing, Acting Insp Stuart said.
Cronulla Sharks today issued a statement over the incident.
“The Club are aware of an incident last night involving Andrew Fifita.
“No Charges have been laid and police investigations are continuing.
“The NRL have been informed.
“No further comment will be made at this stage.”
