THE Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) could be deregistered with Prime Minister Scott Morrison to discuss the radical action with his colleagues after a state secretary of the union tweeted an obscene Father’s Day message.

Union heavyweight John Setka, a Victorian state secretary, launched an attack on the Australian Building and Construction Commission and it’s head Stephen McBurney on Sunday tweeting a photo of his son and daughter holding a sign saying “GO GET FU#KED”.

“Message to McBurney & ABCC: “LEAVE OUR DADS ALONE AND GO CATCH REAL CRIMINALS YOU COWARDS!!” Happy Father’s Day to all the @CFMEU dads today!”

Speaking to Alan Jones on 2GB, Mr Morrison blasted Mr Setka for the tweet which he likened to parents using their children during terrorism protests.

“The CFMEU have behaved under John Sekta like a bunch of thugs and to involve his children in that I think is one of the ugliest thing I’ve seen. You know when you see children being used in these sorts of protests — and we saw it is in those horrific things in relation to some of those protests around terrorism and things, this stuff makes your skin crawl,” Mr Morrison said.

“This is a bloke the Labor Party gives life membership to and holds parades for. This guy shouldn’t have a parade he should be paraded out of the place.”

Mr Morrison said he would consider deregistering the CFMEU.

“I’ll be discussing that with Kelly O’Dwyer, as you know, who’s my new Minister for Industrial Relations. I’m not afraid to talk about industrial relations.”

He urged Labor leader Bill Shorten to sever all ties with Mr Sekta and the CFMEU.

“You’re known by who you stand next to and Bill Shorten has got his arms all around John Sekta and John Sekta has got his arms all around Bill Shorten. Bill Shorten is union bred, union fed and union led and that’s how he would run Australia.”

Mr Morrison also told Mr Jones he considered energy and climate change policies — like the Paris agreement on emissions targets — as distinct concerns.

“They’re completely separate issues, you’ve got climate policies which have been running for some time now and that’s why we’ve met all of those targets at a canter and that’s why, what I’m doing, is separating those two issues out,” he said.

The portfolios of environment and energy have been delegated to separate ministers in the new government led by Mr Morrison.

Mr Morrison said he was focused on reducing power prices.

“I’m not convinced changing it (the Paris targets) makes any difference one way or the other and that’s the bottom line. We met the first round of targets in a canter and this next one is out to 2030. Now that discussion isn’t going to change anybody’s electricity prices and that’s what I’m focused on. I’m not a climate warrior one way or the other what I’m about is getting people’s prices down,” he said.

Mr Morrison was also questioned about the controversial Building Respectful Relationship schools program — known as Safe Schools — which prompts teachers to discuss sexual activity with children.

Mr Jones claimed children in public schools had to role play being a teenage girl with multiple partners who may be bisexual.

Father-of-two Mr Morrison said this was why he sent his two daughters, aged 9 and 11, to an Independent Baptist School.

“It’s not happening in the school I send my kids to and that’s one of the reasons I send them there,” he said.

“I don’t want the values of others being imposed on my children in my school and I don’t think that should be happening in any public or private school.”
