SHE shares the same pouting lips, hairstyle and heavy make-up and even the same name as his wife (albeit spelt differently)... meet the other woman in the life of controversial councillor Salim Mehajer.
The Auburn Deputy Mayor’s sister Aisha has a striking resemblance to his wife Aysha but was little known until her brother’s lavish wedding made world headlines in August.
But she’s been busy making a name for herself as a glamour model and Instagram star with more than 9000 followers and has now taken to social media to reveal she’s joining her brother and his new wife in a new business venture on the internet.
Aisha is also a beauty queen, and was crowned Miss Personality at the 2015 Miss Lebanon Australia beauty pageant. She is active on social media and has a keen interest in fashion and beauty.
Aisha and Aysha share a close bond, with social media documenting their business meetings together.
Oddly, Aysha Mehajer was born April Amelia Learmonth but chose to legally change her name by deed poll to be just one letter different to his sister’s.
Property developer Mehajer first dominated headlines after his extravagant wedding, where Ms Mehajer was a bridesmaid.
He was later ordered to pay a $220 fine for the disruption he caused by shutting down a Sydney street.
At the time Ms Mehajer shot back at media reports that suggested neighbours were furious about the wedding.
“Neighbours were angry apparently. Meanwhile, the whole street was at the front of their homes cheering, dancing, clapping and filming with us,’ she wrote.
“To all the people making absurd assumptions; you just wish you were invited.”
Aisha enjoys a close relationship with her brother and sister-in-law, posting happy snaps of the three of them and is also employed by his company, Sydney Project Group.
Mr Mehajer’s recent involvement with a number of court cases has prompted calls for him to resign from council.
In September, four of his fellow Auburn councillors arranged a meeting for the deputy mayor to step down.
So far all calls have been unsuccessful and fellow councillors gave him the nickname “Mr Teflon” because “nothing sticks”.
He ran into trouble with the law in 2012 after allegedly hitting two women with his $300,000 Ferrari, but successfully appealed his negligent driving conviction and was acquitted.
