THE feud between Roxy Jacenko and Lisa Ho was born out of the PR queen’s belief the clothing designer would “displace” her from her wealthy father’s life and, take her inheritance.
Nick Jacenko began a relationship with Ms Ho soon after administrators were called in to the closure of her 30-year-old high-end clothing business in 2013.
Relations with the Sweaty Betty founder were initially warm but soon soured, resulting in an alleged public scuffle in the street.
The salacious details of the long-running feud are detailed in new book Blonde Ambition: Roxy Jacenko Unfiltered by Daily Telegraph journalist Annette Sharp, to be released today.
The tipping point for Ms Jacenko turning on Ms Ho came when the designer knocked back her proposal for a $1 million bailout of the floundering fashion company as part of a three-way business arrangement between her, her father and Ms Ho.
Ms Ho decided against the deal and instead liquidated her companies as she “didn’t want to be business partners with Roxy”.
Ms Jacenko’s “new obsession” was a belief Ms Ho could end up with her inheritance and was a “rival” for her father’s love and wealth.
She banned her father from her Sweaty Betty headquarters in September 2013 — despite her father owning the building — telling staff it was because “he chose the fashion designer over our family”.
With her father out of favour she became her mother’s great defender in her parent’s divorce and her animosity towards Ms Ho played out publicly. In May this year, three days after an insider trading trial began for Roxy’s husband Oliver Curtis, Mr Jacenko alleges he was assaulted by his ex-wife and daughter on a leafy Woollahra street in full view of Ms Jacenko’s two children.
Mr Jacenko and Ms Ho filed a police report after the chance meeting on Moncur St, claiming his daughter grabbed him by the neck of his T-shirt and struck him around the head and chest about 20 times while screaming he “should be ashamed of yourself”.
Ms Jacenko was also accused of grabbing Ho by the scarf around her neck and striking her with a ‘‘closed fist’’ to the head and neck. Ms Jacenko vehemently denied the claims.
Another encounter in 2013 saw Ms Ho “verballed” by Ms Jacenko while she was handing out Voluntary Euthanasia Party pamphlets at Double Bay Public School on federal election day.
