Dozens of residents were forced to evacuate from an apartment block in Sydney’s southwest after a fire tore through the complex on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to Washington Ave shortly before 8.30pm following reports of a unit fire.
Officers arrived to find the second-storey apartment well alight, with flames coming from the windows.
Firefighters quickly got to work extinguishing the blaze and launched an investigation into its cause.
Several residents were evacuated from the apartment block as a precaution.
Some reported hearing a loud explosion that shook the building shortly before the fire broke out.
The fire was brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has commenced.
