Fists, pants, ties and flowers were flying at the gates of a Sydney racecourse on Saturday — and nobody was the winner.
Ten minutes after the final race at Rosehill finished, fists were flying as an argument descended into chaos about 6.30pm.
As a pair of men ripped at each other’s ties and pants, help arrived from an unusual direction.
Undeterred by the punches flying from every angle, a woman dressed in a race-appropriate floral jumpsuit whacked one of the men with her bouquet of roses, sending petals flying.
One of the men ended up with his suit pants ripped apart to reveal his tattoos. But he kept swinging, even though the other man was hanging onto his tie.
Security called police, reporting 30 people brawling but, by the time the cops arrived, the main players had already boarded a minibus and were on their way down Hassall St.
Police pulled the bus over at a service station and spoke to those on board.
While there were reports of a few bruised egos, no serious injuries or arrests were reported.
