The teenage daughter of a NSW Corrective Services officer appeared in court yesterday, one of seven people charged with supplying drugs at a Sydney music festival over the weekend.
Police claim Ashleigh Bennett, 19, was acting suspiciously inside the Epik Music festival at Olympic Park on Saturday night when she was searched and they allegedly found 36 capsules of MDMA in her handbag.
She was charged with supplying a prohibited drug of an indictable quantity, possessing a prohibited drug, dealing with property proceeds of crime, and having goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen.
Parramatta Bail Court was yesterday told Bennett was studying nursing at university and worked part-time as a barmaid.
She was granted conditional bailed to face court again in January.
Another teenage girl, 18, was allegedly caught at the festival with 800 tablets in hidden in her bra and a further 200 tablets secreted inside her body, while a 22-year-old man was allegedly found with 269 MDMA capsules
And also in court yesterday, Evan Le, 19, was also granted bail after he was allegedly caught with 99 MDMA capsules and cash. He was also charged with supplying an indictable quantity of a prohibited drug and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

In all, police said 18 people were charged with drug-related offences, 13 people were issued criminal infringement notices, and 38 people were ejected by police amid the high-visibility police operation at the festival.
