Gladys Berejiklian hit a maternity milestone as her 199,999th and 200,000th goodie bags for bubs went to a gorgeous pair of twins whose names were likely to stick around in the NSW Premier’s memory.
Mum Tenaj Mitchell received the surprise visit on Tuesday morning from the NSW Premier to receive her baby bundles after she gave birth to Taevius and J’Myrah at Liverpool Hospital.
Single mum of four Miss Mitchell said she appreciated the contents of the bundles, particularly since she didn’t receive them for her son Jahdae, 3 and daughter Alanaya, 2.
“There’s actually quite a few things in the bundle I didn’t think about getting, like the bath thermometer and the first aidkit I didn’t even think about, the books are cute too,” Miss Mitchell said.
“You can never go wrong with baby wipes and the play wipes are great too.”
When asked about her children’s unique monikers, Miss Mitchell revealed her bespoke naming process:“I just see names and Iput two and two together and then I just make them up so they’re not from anything or mean anything.”
Her twins took the government’s tally of baby bundles handed out since last January to 200,000.
Ms Berejiklian said they were still proving a hit with new mums: “It’s a wonderful boost for all new families, all young families and I really appreciate the feedback we’ve received about them”.
