Police today released CCTV footage and appealed for information about three separate robberies, where one man was threatened with a sword, in Sydney’s CBD.
Just before 6.45am on July 24, a woman was walking along Mountain St, Ultimo, when she was approached by two males wearing hooded jackets.
The pair assaulted the woman before taking her laptop and driving from the scene in a silver Mercedes AMG with NSW registration plates DQB-56R.
A short time later, a silver Mercedes AMG approached a woman who was standing on Bulwarra Rd, Pyrmont.
Police were told the woman was grabbed, and her bag, which contained an iPad and cash, was taken.
The car drove from the scene and was last seen in Mitchell St, Glebe.
Just after 4am on July 30, a man was walking along Quay St, Haymarket, looking at his mobile phone when he was punched in the side and back of the head.
As the man lay on the ground, he was kicked and punched by four males, before one of the men produced a sword and took the man’s mobile phone.
Police were told the group left the scene in a silver Mercedes AMG, which was last seen turning left onto Thomas Drive
Strike Force Java 6 investigators would like to speak to anyone who might be able to identify the vehicle or the males in the CCTV footage.
