POLICE have released descriptions of a man and woman linked to a horrific attack involving a samurai sword in Sydney’s inner west.
A 30-year-old was hit in the head with the sword on Friday afternoon in Forest Lodge, near Glebe.
The victim managed to stumble more than 100m from where he was attacked on Hereford St before he collapsed in a pool of blood on Minogue Cres, where he died.
The discovery of a replica firearm near his body at first indicated the man, who lives in the area, was shot.
However, witnesses have told police he was hacked over the head with a sword.
A man and woman fled the scene, jumping over a fence and running down Alfred Rd.
On Saturday afternoon police released descriptions of the pair.
The woman is aged in her early 20s, of thin build, about 178cm fall with bleached blonde hair and dark-coloured roots.
She was last seen wearing a black singlet and maroon three-quarter pants.
The man is also Caucasian and aged in his late 20s. He was of medium build, about 178cm tall with short brown hair.
Neighbours said the pair had been living in a flat at the back of a terrace house on Hereford St for several months.
Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
