A police operation is under way at a shopping centre in Bondi Junction, with reports a man has stabbed four people, The Sunday Telegraph reports.
Witnesses say a man was chasing people with a knife, before the Westfield complex was evacuated and locked down.
It’s understood four people have been stabbed.
Early reports suggest the armed man has been shot by police. Police believe there is one offender.
Police – including the Tactical Operations Unit – and ambulances are on scene, and people have been seen screaming and crying out the front of the complex.
A young witness currently locked inside a store - said she has heard gunshots and “blood-curdling” screams.
“We are absolutely terrified,” she said.

Paramedics have taken two people to hospital via ambulance so far, while bystanders have seen multiple people outside the shopping centre with blood on their clothes.
