Police are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious house fire in the Illawarra earlier this year.
About 2.30am on Wednesday, February 12, emergency services were called to a property on Fisher St, Oak Flats, after reports of a fire in the backyard.
A 39-year-old man inside the home managed to extinguish the blaze at the rear of the property before noticing a second fire near the home’s electricity box at the front.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews arrived shortly after and extinguished the second fire. No injuries were reported.
Both fires are being treated as suspicious.
As part of ongoing inquiries, police have released a CCTV image of a vehicle seen in the area at the time of the incident.
The vehicle is described as a white utility with black or grey roof racks, and investigators believe the driver may be able to assist with their investigation.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area is urged to contact Lake Illawarra Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
