Police vow they are ‘getting in the face’ of grubs preying on women on Sydney’s public transport after a number of teenage girls were allegedly indecent assaulted on the bus and train network.
Police are searching for three men after teenage girls were allegedly indecently assaulted on Sydney’s public transport in the last year.
Officers have released CCTV footage and images of three men who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries into several alleged indecent assaults.
NSW Police have developed Operation Artemis to crack down on the grubby acts.
Detective Superintendent Brad Monk said his officers have been “getting in the face” of offenders.
“It’s unacceptable that people going about their day-to-day lives on public transport are subject to such cowardly acts,” Supt Monk said.
“Operation Artemis is as much about preventing crime on public transport before it happens, as it is about investigating.
“Our officers are constantly patrolling and watching the public transport system, and make no apologies for getting in the face of people they believe are committing crimes.
Police are investigating the alleged indecent assault of a 14-year-old girl who was travelling on a bus from Blacktown to Glenwood about 3.25pm on Thursday May 30, 2019.
They are seeking a man of Middle Eastern appearance with a medium build, who may be able to assist with police inquiries.
Another incident they are investigating is the alleged indecent assault of a 19-year-old woman travelling to Auburn from St James Railway station about 6pm on Friday August 17, 2018.
Police want to speak with a man of Indian — Subcontinental appearance, about 165cm tall, aged in his late 20s or early 30s and had dark short hair and a beard.
The final incident police are seeking the public's help for is the alleged indecent assault of an 18-year-old woman while she was travelling on a bus from Parramatta to Baulkham Hills about 1.50pm on Sunday March 3, 2019.
The man is described as Indian — Subcontinental appearance, in his late 20s, with short dark hair and a beard. He was wearing a short-sleeve navy collared shirt, blue jeans and grey shoes.
