Police have taken a Windsor man into custody after he held police at bay and made threats towards his pregnant partner.

A man has been taken into custody after heavily armed police closed down streets in Western Sydney.
Local police and members of the Public Order and Riot squad converged on George St, Windsor around 5pm today.
Police were initially alerted about an incident in the apartment on top of the shopping centre - there was a concern for the welfare of a heavily pregnant woman who lived with her partner.
A NSW Police spokeswoman confirmed the man had left the home and had been taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
She also said his partner had not been detained during the incident.
He has not been charged

Heavily armed cops wearing bulletproof vests, helmets, carrying shields and shotguns were seen approaching the apartment through the shopping complex.
A witness, who wished to remain anonymous, told The Daily Telegraph it was a terrifying afternoon.
“This man is well known around the area. He has been standing on the verandah screaming at police. He sounded like he was threatening them, but I couldn’t make out the words. It was aggressive,” he said.
“His partner is heavily pregnant and she was with him in the building for a while. The last I saw she was talking to police then going towards paramedics.”
