A mother with a pram has been rushed to hospital and her toddler miraculously left uninjured after a car veered onto the footpath near a major road in Sydney’s inner west.

Emergency services were called to Parramatta Rd near Catherine Street in Leichhardt around 4.30pm on Sunday following reports a Toyota Corolla had hit a 35-year-old woman with a pram.

The force of the crash sent the woman flying through the window of a nearby shop and the pram mangled. Incredibly, her 19-month-old child was not injured in the crash.

One lane of Parramatta Rd remains closed as inquiries continue.
