Initial reports suggest the vehicle was travelling north when it ran off the highway. Two men in their 40s were flown to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

Inspector Timothy Bayly said police were investigating several possible lines of inquiry, including whether it may have been drug-related.

“We are investigating the incident thoroughly,” he said.

The specialist Crash Investigation Unit are on scene investigating the incident.
