A woman has been found dead with her throat slit inside a building on Clarence St in the Sydney CBD after a knife wielding attacker was brought down by hero bystanders.
A woman's body has been found with her throat slashed in a CBD building after an armed man was dramatically arrested by police earlier today.
Witnesses reported seeing the man, whom The Daily Telegraph understands is an escaped mental patient, armed with a kitchen knife as he ran through the city covered in blood.
He allegedly stabbed a separate woman near the corner of King and Clarence Streets before being pinned down with milk crates by a group of bystanders.
The man has now been taken to Day Street Police Station.

Police said in a statement that a woman was found suffering a stab wound in a hotel and was treated by police and NSW Ambulance paramedics inside the building.
"A short time later, members of the public detained the man before police attended and arrested him," the statement said.
A second woman's body was found in a building on Clarence St after his arrest.
Witnesses have told AAP a young man armed with a 30-centimetre kitchen knife had been yelling religious statements.

Police say it’s been reported he was yelling “Allahu Akbar”.
Paul O’Shaughnessy, 37, said his brother Luke, 30, chased the man and managed to get a grip on him with the help of a third person.
“He’s got blood all over him ... shouting religious statements,” Mr O’Shaughnessy told reporters.

Leon had two passengers in his car and told 2GB Radio the man "clearly had a knife in his hand".
“I was heading north from King St, he had a little bit of blood on his shirt.
“There were police, there were people with his phones out, there were a couple of firies.
“He was a young guy probably about 23, 24, definitely on something.
“He didn’t sound normal, obviously he wasn’t acting normal."
