The mother of the baby who was forced to inhale smoke from a vape has hit back against her critics on social media.
Video of the incident emerged on social media showing a person putting a yellow vape to the mouth of a 10-month-old baby on the state’s mid-north coast.
A cloud of smoke then exits the child’s nose and mouth.
The baby’s mother has since apologised in an exclusive interview with The Daily Telegraph.
The baby can be seen coughing in the video while its carers appear to laugh.
Hundreds of people vented their frustrations across several social media posts that shared the disturbing video.

But the baby’s mother defended her actions in a comment on Facebook.
“Every c*** got the hide to sit there and talk about me and my child, take a look in yas own backyard,” she wrote.
“You ain’t perfect either so keep that mouth going you ain’t scary, you’re nothing but bums.”
It comes after an abundance of hate flooded the comments sections online.
“Imagine giving your baby a puff at the vape that’s f**kn putrid man , you need help sis,” a user said.
“Wtf..that is disgusting..that poor baby,” another commented.
Many called for the baby to be taken away from his mother.
“DOCS !! Give me the baby, at least I will love and raise him/her right,” one person vented.
“This is one of the WORST things I’ve ever seen,” Ben Fordham posted to his official Facebook page.
“The baby should be removed from the home immediately.”
“Wtf take the baby off her,” another user vented.
“Wtf..that is disgusting..that poor baby,” another commented.
A NSW Police spokesman said they had spoken with the child’s family and – following advice provided by medical professionals and other governmental agencies – no further police action will be taken.
Paige Preston from the Lung Foundation told 7 News: “It is incredibly alarming to see that video of that poor child.”
“This is a massive concern because it does normalise vaping and it makes light of something that is incredibly dangerous to children and to adults.”
