As the flood crisis continues to batter NSW, we’ve compiled some of the most shocking footage and images showing the scale of devastation across Sydney’s suburbs, stretching from the north to the west.
From towns submerged underwater to cars floating past classrooms, the torrential downpour has destroyed homes and left suburbs in ruins in scenes reminiscent of apocalyptic movies.

MACKELLAR GIRLS, MANLY
It looks like something straight out of War of the Worlds but the horror of the floods was a reality for Mackellar Girls students on Tuesday as cars stranded in torrents of floodwater floated past their classroom.

CAMDEN
Perhaps the most poignant footage shows parts of the southwestern suburb of Camden underwater as floodwaters rose perilously close to homes, forcing the evacuation of residents.

THE M5
It’s usually one of the city’s busiest highways, but the M5 was transformed into a river on Tuesday as torrents of floodwater streamed through the tunnel.
BIRRONG
Extraordinary vision from the southwestern suburb of Birrong shows water tearing through the front door of a Birrong home, before pouring into a home, sweeping up furniture in its wake.
DEE WHY
The popular beachside suburb more closely resembled the ocean on Tuesday as it was overwhelmed with floodwaters.
