NRL star Jack de Belin is preparing to welcome a second child with girlfriend Alyce Taylor at some point during his rape trial, which starts today.

De Belin, 30, was pictured next to a heavily pregnant Ms Taylor over the weekend at their daughter Billie Maree’s second birthday party.

The St George Illawarra star smiled happily as he and his girlfriend sung happy birthday to their daughter, surrounded by friends, including de Belin’s NRL teammates and their partners.

A source close to the couple said their second baby was due in the coming weeks and they are “very happy”.

De Belin will face Downing Centre District Court on Monday for the start of his trial over the alleged rape of a teenage girl after a Christmas pub crawl through Wollongong in 2019.

He and good friend Callan Sinclair are each facing five charges of aggravated sexual assault.

The pair have pleaded not guilty.

De Belin does not refute having group sex with the woman and Sinclair, but insists it was consensual.

De Belin remains sidelined from the NRL under the league’s controversial no-fault stand-down rule.

In the aftermath of his first trial de Belin was able to briefly return to training with the Dragons first grade side, before being sent to train with the reserve grade team.

But his attempts to have his ban under the no-fault stand-down rule were rejected by the NRL.

The high-profile trial is expected to last for three weeks.
