With prison, plastic surgery and relationship breakdowns colouring his recent past, whoever signs on to be former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer’s new PA won’t be bored.

He may have become a human headline in recent years but Salim Mehajer is nothing if not persistent.

The controversial former Auburn deputy mayor appears to be working on a comeback, with a job advertisement for a personal assistant appearing on seek.com this week.

The former Auburn councillor and property developer is advertising for a PA at Zenah Project Developments Pty Ltd, a company which lists him as a director.

The hunt for an assistant comes after Mr Mehajer’s release from jail in March after serving 11 months behind bars for electoral fraud.

“You will be working alongside a high profile individual (namely Salim Mehajer) … focusing in construction and development, as well as managing business interests in legal and financial units. *Negotiable salary upon successful application*,” the job listing reads.

Since his lavish 2015 wedding to Aysha Learmonth, which included four helicopters and a fleet of cars that stopped traffic, Mr Mehajer has never been far from controversy.

In March 2018 he was declared bankrupt and in April 2018 was found guilty of an electoral fraud scheme that got him elected to Auburn City Council.

More recently, his luxury $300,000 Ferrari was badly damaged and left parked in the street outside his opulent mansion, the engine missing, and the bonnet ripped off.

Mr Mehajer is still fighting allegations he staged at 2017 car crash which saw his car collide with another vehicle before he was due to appear in court.

Police accused him of creating the crash in western Sydney, so he did not have to face trial for the alleged assault of a taxi driver.

The job ad on seek.com is a far cry from a previous - and less professional - attempt to secure a PA in 2017 when Mr Mehajer used his Instagram account to call for applications.

The 2017 ad was littered with spelling errors and widely panned by his followers who joked he was in more need of a proof reader than a PA.

All applicants who apply for the current role will be required to enter into a confidential agreement, the ad states, and the job will include organising appointments, meetings, manning the phones, liaising with brokers and clients as well as undertaking a range of ad-hoc tasks.

Mr Mehajer has been contacted for comment.
