A CENTRAL Coast man who allegedly wore a military-style camouflage suit while he bound, gagged and raped a 12-year-old girl will remain behind bars until tomorrow.

Troy Stephen Johnson, 31, did not apply for bail when he appeared in Wyong Court this morning, where he faced 13 charges, including aggravated assault of someone under 16 and performing an aggravated act of indecency on a person under 16.

The father-of-three refused to enter the court for the proceedings.

His arrest on Friday followed a three-month investigation after he allegedly attacked the girl by sneaking up and pulling her into bushland while she was walking to school at 7.45am on May 15 in the Central Coast suburb of Narara.

Court documents said the 12-year-old girl was walking to school on May 15 when she “looked over her shoulder and saw a male person wearing camouflage clothing emerge from nearby bushes and approach her”.

“The male was holding a large stick, grabbed the child in a headlock and forced her into bushland adjacent to the pathway,” documents continued.

“The male then took the child to an area in the bushland approximately 30 meters west of the pathway.”

Johnson then allegedly bounded the child’s hands with cable ties and placed duct tape over her mouth.

He then removed her skirt and underwear before moving his hands up and down her body, including her hips, stomach, legs, buttocks and vagina.

According to the court documents Johnson then allegedly forced the girl to perform a sex act on him for five to 10 minutes.

“During this time, the male used his mobile telephone to show the victim a video of a male receiving fellatio from a female (in order to show the victim what to do).

Johnson also allegedly took photos of his young victim before letting her re-dress and walking out of the bushland with her.

Police reportedly found their way to Johnson after a complaint was made that he allegedly attacked a 11-year-old girl between October 2016 and April this year.

Police attended the girl’s school on June 27 after she claimed Johnson had harmed her. Court document allege Johnson exposed his penis to the 11-year-old a number of times during that period, including in the car, in a swimming pool and in a room while his wife was in the shower.

On one occasion, Johnson is alleged to have offered the girl $100 to imitate a video depicting a naked female touching a male’s penis.

Johnson was still wearing his high-vis work shirt when he was arrested in the Wyong suburb of Lake Haven at 9.30pm on Friday night.

Following his arrest, court documents said Johnson, believed to be a diabetic, tried to kill himself with an insulin overdose.

“The accused administered insulin when his sugar was low intentionally,” the documents said.

“Whilst treating the accused he was given instructions to assist in his recovery, a paramedic said words to the effect of “if you don’t do this you will die”.

“The accused replied, “that’s what I want to do”.”

Police allege they searched his Woongarrah home and found what they will allege is a “rape kit” in his garage.

Video, released by the NSW Police Force, showed forensic officers and detectives uncovering hunting knives, a camouflage hat, vest and boots. Detectives also seized cable ties, a camouflage mask and other items, police said.

“Located within the garage with the tools belonging to the accused was a set of knuckledusters,” court documents said.

Police had also attended Johnson’s home on June 28 in relation to the alleged sexual abuse of the 11-year-old girl.

Officers seized his mobile phone and a second one was handed in by his wife.

Court documents said Johnson was in custody at the time.

Police allegedly found “bird-eye” images of the Narara area retrieved from an online maps application, aerial images of a nearby high school and child pornography on his phone.

Johnson’s social media profile describes a happy father of three who was married in 2009.

In one photo, he is pictured kissing his wife on their wedding day. In another he poses with his family for a shopping centre Santa Clause shot.

After his arrest, Johnson suffered what is believed to be a diabetic medical episode and was taken to Wyong Hospital for treatment but was kept under police guard.

The case has been adjourned to tomorrow at Gosford Local Court.
