After weeks of headlines following her marriage split — and an incident between husband Sam and her dad — Phoebe Burgess headed back to work at yesterday’s Derby Day carnival, with her publicist saying career would be a priority for the newly single mum.

Former rugby league WAG Phoebe Burgess has been laying low since news of her marriage breakdown to NRL player Sam Burgess broke three weeks ago. But yesterday she put her troubles aside to return to work.
The mother of two, who has maintained a dignified silence since it was revealed she had separated from her husband, was a guest at the Lexus Marquee at yesterday’s Derby Day carnival in Melbourne.
While her estranged husband Burgess holidayed in Mexico, Phoebe fulfilled her work commitments and joined Jodi Gordon, Montana Cox, Jordan Barrett, Ksenija Lukich and Tim Robards in the Lexus Marquee.

The 30-year-old journalist’s two young children are understood to be with their grandparents.
The Johnson’s Baby ambassador is believed to have styled herself for the event, and opted for a black and white polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich and a chic Saint Laurent hat.
While reluctant to talk to journalists at yesterday’s event, Burgess’s agent Sharon Finnigan said despite the recent drama surrounding her personal life, Phoebe’s work remained a priority.
“Phoebe has a great work ethic and we are meeting all our work commitments as normal,” Finnigan told The Sunday Telegraph.
It’s been a tumultuous few weeks for Phoebe, whose father, former Minerals Council of Australia chief executive Mitchell Hooke, took out an AVO against her ex-husband following an incident at his Bowral home last month.
Burgess has since been charged with intimidation.
She has also had to watch on as her 30-year-old estranged husband celebrated the 50th birthday of NRL star Sean Garlick on a cruise in Mexico where he was photographed mingling with bikini-clad women.
Earlier this week it was also revealed Burgess had been messaging Married At First Sight tragic Jessika Power.
Yesterday was the first time Phoebe had been seen in public since her marriage breakdown came to light.
Last weekend she shared a video of herself with her children, Poppy, 2, and 10-month-old Billy, in the Southern Highlands, where she has been staying.
“Horses heal everything,” the Ostelin ambassador wrote on a photo of her daughter Poppy grooming a horse.
