POLICE are conducting a line search in a roadside embankment near Sydney’s Olympic Park after a body was found dumped on the side of a busy motorway.
The body, which appears to have been dumped on the side of Homebush Bay Drive, was spotted by a passing motorist on Wednesday evening.
The body, which police have not yet been publicly identified, was covered in a material and left on the roadside.
It was removed by forensic police without being unwrapped and taken to a morgue where a post-mortem will be conducted as detectives work to establish the identity, a police spokeswoman said.
Police commanders remain on the roadside as other officers search the nearby bush looking for clues.

Police say the death appears to be suspicious.
The body was spotted on Homebush Bay Drive at Homebush, 200m north of Australia Ave about 10.30pm last night.
A crime scene was set up last night and remains in place as detectives and forensic investigators piece together what happened.
Police investigators are combing the nearby bushes.
The body has not yet been identified.
Local police, being assisted by detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, are now investigating further.
Police are urging anyone who has information that may assist, to come forward.
