Mum, 23, stabbed after man breaks into her Cardiff house
Police are hunting for a man who broke into a young mother’s home and stabbed her repeatedly in the back early this morning when she got up for a glass of water.

A young mum was stabbed in the back five times when she got out of bed to get a glass of water in the early hours of Christmas morning.
The 23-year-old was in her Cardiff home near Newcastle and had left her bed at 4.25am when she was grabbed from behind by an unknown man, police said.
He allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed her five times in the back, before fleeing from the white weatherboard house on Cypress St.
The woman’s five and nine-year-old daughters were home at the time of the attack, as well as the woman’s mother.
Ambulances rushed to the house and paramedics treated the woman before she was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
Her injuries are not considered life threatening.
After investigating the scene, police said it appeared that the man had entered through an open window at the back of the house.
The attacker was wearing a hoodie at the time of the attack and also possibly gloves. He was described as being of caucasian appearance, having a slim build and shaved dark hair.
A neighbour yesterday described the young mum as friendly.
“She seems nice, she has two little girls,” she said.
“My grandkids have played with her kids, she has always waved to me, she seems quite pleasant.
“She has only lived here for four or five months.”
