The western Sydney local has been winning fans on social media after delivering an emotional rendition of the British pop star’s song outside a 7-11 store.
Filmed by Chris Leonard, the video has gone viral with thousands of shares and comments.
Wearing fluoro green shorts and a blue T-shirt, and clutching a giant bottle of cider, the giner-haired singer introduces himself as Ashley.
“I’m representing here in Mt Druitt, I’m Red Sheeran, Ed Sheeran’s first cousin. He’s a bit jelly on me so I couldn’t get f---ing anywhere in music,” he says in the clip.
He then bursts into an a cappella version of Sheeran’s hit ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ and well — he’s not half bad.
