Motorist caught driving 260km/h with lights off, police allege
A man has been clocked speeding at 260km/h south of Sydney overnight, police allege. The 22-year-old was allegedly also driving with his lights off.
A man has been clocked speeding at 260km/h south of Sydney overnight, police allege.
Highway Patrol officers on the M1 Princes Motorway north of Helensburgh allegedly detected the Nissan 200SX travelling up to 260km/h in a signposted 110km/h zone about 2.30am this morning.
The officer eventually stopped the vehicle, which had allegedly been travelling with its lights off, at Heathcote and spoke with the driver.

The alleged driver, 22, produced a Queensland licence.
He was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, motor vehicle exceed speed more than 45km/h and drive in dark no lights.
The man was refused police bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.
