A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered “massive trauma” and died after losing control of his bike and crashing in Western Sydney, with paramedics saying pieces of the bike were strewn across the street by the horror smash.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Rickard St, Auburn, about 1.45pm where they found a 30-year-old with serious head injuries.
Paramedics attempted CPR on the injured rider but police confirmed he died a short time later.
They said he suffered “massive head trauma” as well as injuries to his chest and limbs.
“There were parts of his motorcycle strewn all over the place, so there was some considerable force in the impact,” NSW Ambulance Inspector Craig Watkins said.
“It’s awful to go to these accidents and have to treat patients struck down in the prime of their life.
“We really need motorists to just slow down and drive with care, as unfortunately this is a scenario that paramedics are dealing with all too frequently.”
Witnesses told police the rider appeared to have lost control and crashed his bike. It’s believed he may have smashed into a car.
A report will now be prepared the Coroner.
Emergency services remain at the scene and have blocked off several surrounding streets as police investigate.
