A MORTGAGE broker is accused of supplying the eastern suburbs social scene with a white Christmas of an illicit kind, allegedly organising 63 drug deals across the peak of the party season.

Police allege Michael Geering sold cocaine from his ocean view apartment at Coogee Beach or drove to meet customers, using “beer” as a code word in his texts when arranging the deals.

It is alleged in court documents that one customer texted, “Please mate. I promised them some beers at our Christmas lunch”.

After spending New Year’s Eve in custody Geering, 34, appeared via videolink at Parramatta bail court yesterday on five charges, including ongoing supply of a prohibited drug and knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime.

He was supported by a dozen family and friends, including his girlfriend Jane Morgan, a former part-time model turned publicist.

Geering frequently buried his face in his hands as the court heard he was under police surveillance when he allegedly supplied 107g of cocaine over 63 different occasions between December 8 and December 29.

It is alleged when police searched his Dolphin St apartment last Thursday they found several mobile phones, scales, small clip-seal bags and $42,650 in cash.

Police evidence tendered in court states officers obtained a warrant to tap Geering’s phone as part of an investigation into the supply of cocaine in the eastern suburbs.

“It was established that the accused had a significant client base through the eastern suburbs and greater Sydney metro,” police said.

“It was established that the accused had a significant client base through the eastern suburbs and greater Sydney metro,” police said.

Texts from Geering’s alleged customers include, “Is it still 3 for 800?” And, “Two beers happy to pay delivery $100 if we can get two beers ASAP.”

Barrister Ben Clark told Magistrate Ian McRae Geering intended to plead not guilty. He said his client’s job as a “self-employed mortgage broker” and Ms Morgan’s publicity work meant they “had access to money”.

“I have been instructed they will be able to show that money came from lawful means,” Mr Clark said.

He said police had no evidence of any drugs changing hands during any of the alleged deals.

Mr McRae said “with a degree of reservation,” he would agree to grant Geering bail.

The case was adjourned to later this month.
