A teenage girl is in hospital and another has been charged after an alleged stabbing at a western Sydney station.
After reports of a brawl at Merrylands Station about 4pm on Tuesday, a 15 year-old girl with a stab wound was found by emergency services.
Paramedics treated the girl at the scene for a wound to her shoulder before she was taken to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a serious but stable condition.
Three other teenage girls, one aged 14 and two aged 16, were arrested at the scene a short time later. They were questioned and searched outside the station before paper bags were placed over their hands.
They were taken to Fairfield and Auburn Police Stations but were later released.
Another 16-year-old girl was then arrested at a home in Hoxton Park about 11.30pm. She was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and larceny.
She was refused bail to appear in court today.
Reports indicate a fight allegedly took place between two groups of teenagers in the car park and bus stop sections of the station before the 15 year-old was allegedly stabbed.
