Meet Australia’s cutest lion cubs, Duke and Kion, who were exclusively named by readers of The Daily Telegraph.
The five month old lion cubs were nameless for months, with their keeper Chad Staples scrambling for ideas.
“The name suggestions were super helpful, of all the important responsibilities of running a zoo, picking names can be quite a challenge,” Mr Staples said.
“It lives with the animal forever and you just want the perfect name, after months we finally picked them.
“I needed all the help we could get, it took way too long, the poor cubs didn’t have names for a while but we wanted to make sure their personalities fit them perfectly”.
The lively twin lion cubs born at Mogo Wildlife Park on the South Coast in November are a big hit with human visitors with their personalities shining as they grow.
“Duke with the darker coat has a bigger and bolder independent personality, but they’re both very adventurous.
“They’re still adorable but as lion cubs they just know they’re ferocious, always trying to wrestle their mum and dad, it’s great watching them grow”.
