THE paramedic ex-husband of the woman charged with the murder of Walcha farmer Mathew Dunbar, has been staying at the dead man’s property for the past three days.

Colin Crossman has been repeatedly sighted at Mr Dunbar’s sheep farm “Pandora” since his ex-wife Natasha Darcy-Crossman, 42, was arrested on Saturday morning.

Mr Crossman is not accused of any wrongdoing.

Last week Darcy-Crossman told The Daily Telegraph Mr Dunbar had committed suicide. A few days later police arrested her at the property and charged her with murder.

Since Mr Dunbar’s death, Mr Crossman has spent an increasing amount of time at the multimillion-dollar Merino property just a few minutes’ drive from the small town of Walcha, east of Tamworth.

It is understood Mr Crossman is looking after Darcy-Crossman’s three children, who had been living at the property prior to their mother’s arrest.

Darcy-Crossman refused to come up from the cells at Tamworth Local Court when her case was briefly mentioned.

More than half a dozen journalists sat in courtroom two of the country court in anticipation of seeing Ms Darcy-Crossman for the first time since her arrest on Saturday morning.

“Ms Darcy does not wish to be brought before the court,” Mr Johnson said.

“She’s doing fine — as well as can be expected,” Mr Johnston said.

Darcy-Crossman did not apply for bail and it was formally refused by the magistrate.

He would not comment on whether she would be defending the charges and said she had made a bid for bail during a closed court session on Sunday.

“It was refused,” he said.

The case will return to court on January 24.
