Masood Zakaria and Ali Younes ‘on the run’’ from police

Two of the most senior members of the Alameddine crime network are ‘on the run,’ with police fearing they are attempting to escape overseas in eerily similar scenes to Mostafa Baluch.

Two of the most senior members of the Alameddine crime network are on the run, with police fearing they are attempting to escape overseas in eerily similar scenes to Mostafa Baluch.

Masood Zakaria, 26, and Ali “Ay Huncho” Younes, 24, are being sought by police over their alleged participation in the ongoing Alameddine and Hamzy gang war rocking Sydney’s southwest.

Police are currently unaware of their whereabouts and fear the men may be trying to flee the country.

Zakaria is understood by The Daily Telegraph to be the right-hand man of Rafat Alameddine, the accused leader of the crime network carrying his surname.

His best mate Younes is a longtime member of the Merrylands gang, although better known for his foray into rap music.

Younes’ high-profile lawyer Abdul Saddik told The Daily Telegraph his client would be handing himself in to police on Thursday and insisted he was not on the run.

Zakaria is described as being of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance, about 180cm tall, of obese build, with brown eyes, black hair and a beard.

The manhunt comes just a month after police successfully tracked down accused drug importer Mostafa Baluch.

Baluch was allegedly planning to flee the country after being granted bail and cutting off his ankle bracelet.

He remains before the courts.
